Richard serves as the resident LEGO® expert and Creativity Engineering at PCS Edventures.COM. His website "Weird Richard" is one of the best known sources of LEGO® learning activities in the world and he regularly communicates with other educators from all walks of life, all countries, and all philosophies about the value of project based learning using fun and versatile constructs such as LEGO®.

He joined PCS Education Systems as an Instructor in 1990 teaching children ages 4 -18, using LEGO® elements as the primary teaching tool. It was in those early years of teaching that Richard began to form his unique style and approach to motivating, inspiring, and teaching children. Now, Richard brings over a decade of teaching experience to the design of fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning activities. He currently spends much of his time writing, presenting, training educators, and providing product support for the PCS Academy of Engineering.

He lives in Boise, Idaho with his lovely wife Marlene and spends his rarely found spare moments working on rebuilding his very own BMW 2002. Rumour has it that the BMW, when finished, will have an unusual assortment of non-standard parts and a healthy smattering of LEGO® components included under the hood!
