THE LIVING BRIDGE PROJECT!

Some interesting fellows in Austria sent me the following. The Lego connection is tenuous...they contacted me to see if Fischer Technics or Lego pnuematics would be practical to build a bridge. Ultimately it was decided they did not have the time ( or money ) to built the bridge with Lego elements. I thought it would be fun to share their work ( with permission of course ) with the world, and challenge you folk out there to replicate their design with Legos.

Good luck guys! It is a beautiful bridge!

Welcome to the LIVING BRIDGE!

by Robert Wacha

The living bridge is an architectural design and construction project of Robert Wacha for the Fachhochschule Coburg in Bavaria under professor G”ger and professor Kirsch. The problem was to construct a pedestrian bridge over the railway-station of Coburg in Germany. As it was a kind of competition, so it should be something special. I solved this by inventing a pneumatic system, which allows the bridge to move in a certain way. As you inflate or deflate the ballons, the bridge will turn from one side to the other. This can be used against heavy side-wind effects or ( u guessed it ) just for fun. I hope you like my work and would be happy, if you mail me your opinion......
