TECHNOLOGICAL LITERACY THIS WEEK

Last week we addressed the ITEA's standards on "The Nature of
Technology" -- which talks about defining technology and placing
it in perspective for students. This week, four more important
standards that address technology in a societal context.

Technology and Society - from the ITEA's Technology for All
American's project.

Standard 4: Students will develop an understanding of the
cultural, social, economic, and political effects of technology.

Standard 5: Students will develop an understanding of the
effects of technology on the environment.

Standard 6: Students will develop an understanding of the role
of society in the development and use of technology.

Standard 7: Students will develop an understanding of the
influence of technology on history.

MORE ON THE ITEA NEXT WEEK!

will cover the remainder of the ITEA's 20 Standards for
Technological Literacy. Hopefully, you can find a moment to
integrate some of this information into your daily routine with
your students or family this week. Together, we can build a
